The new five-story facility is approximately 175,000 sf research building and is comprised of wet and dry labs, and administrative desktop spaces. This new building provides a modern research facility that allows UCSF’s programs to continue to grow and develop while meeting the UC Seismic Standards. Over 2000 pieces of equipment were moved. 744 workstations (578 dry research and 166 wet research); 61 Principal Investigators (PI’s), 29 departments, 15 lab neighborhoods (2-3 depts make-up a lab neighborhood), and approximately (100) -80 Freezers moved to both onsite and offsite locations.

VOC’s comprised timeline: Initial assessment of all wet labs in late August 2022, all equipment drawings completed between November 2022 – April 2023. All Lab spaces were prepared to move by May 2023
